Add–Drop Policy for Trips

Late Additions
Participants who are added after the official application and payment deadline may join the team under the following conditions:

1. If airline tickets have not been purchased, no additional costs are incurred as long as the payment schedule is followed.
2. If airline tickets have already been purchased, the participant is responsible for any difference in airfare. Tickets will only be purchased once sufficient funds are available in the participant’s account. GMT will attempt to place the participant on the same flights as the team but cannot guarantee this.

Participant Withdrawal
Participants who withdraw from a trip must notify Global Missions Training staff as early as possible.

1. If withdrawal occurs before airline tickets are purchased, raised funds may be held as a GMT trip credit for up to 12 months from the trip end date.
2. If no notification is given before the trip, raised funds will be applied to the general team fund.
3. If withdrawal occurs after airline tickets are purchased, any available airline refund will be handled according to the airline’s policies. Refunds are not guaranteed. Any remaining funds, after costs are covered, may be held as a GMT credit or applied to the team fund.
4. In the event the raised funds are not used for a GMT-sponsored trip within 12 months from the start date of the original trip, the funds will be transferred to the GMT account and may be used at the discretion of GMT or World Missions leadership to defray costs for a future team or individual team participants.

Important Notice
Donated funds are tax-deductible and cannot be returned to donors under IRS regulations.
